The Reference Extract project centers around the credibility of digital information. By "credibility" the investigators mean the degree to which the public can trust the impartiality and intellectual probity of information. A "credibility interface" is an interface that provides indicators of the degree of credibility corresponding with a referenced resource. Reference Extract is envisioned as a new web service to help users find relevant and trusted resources. Systems using Reference Extract will maximize credibility by relying on the expertise and credibility judgments of librarians from around the globe.
